The work placement agreement between Minera Tres Valles and Pablo Rodríguez Caviedes Polytechnic High School was renewed on Wednesday, December 19 during a ceremony held at the school. The Mayor of Illapel, representatives of the Municipal Council, members of the Department of Municipal Educational Administration (DAEM), and teachers and students of the school were all in attendance.

This collaborative work agreement establishes a direct and continuous relationship between Tres Valles and the Polytechnic School, in which their technical programs linked to the mining sector develop various training activities for both teachers and students. The goal of this partnership is to promote the quality of technical education in the province of Choapa.

Throughout 2018-2019, 16 students will benefit from professional work placements at Tres Valles. In the following year, training in safety and risk prevention will also be included to promote the development of a safety culture in the training of technical professionals.

Mr. Denis Cortés, Mayor of Illapel, stated that “the renewal of this agreement is an important way to demonstrate our commitment to one another. We supply skilled technicians to the workforce, and private companies deliver opportunities to students. I would like to thank Minera Tres Valles for their cooperation, and I hope that all companies achieve this degree of connection and contribution to the community.”

Mr. Luis Ibacache, Director of the Polytechnic School, stressed that for the institution “it is very important that Tres Valles renews this agreement, since we have developed mutual trust through years of partnership. We would like to thank Tres Valles for betting on the young people of this province and providing valuable experiences for our graduates.”

Mr. Eduardo Reyes, Human Resources Manager at Minera Tres Valles, indicated that the partnership “helps shape future expectations for graduates, and provides long term benefits to the company in the form of trained and competent professionals.
