Plant Operations Manager
Civil Engineer, Metallurgy Superintendent of MTV, he has 25 years of experience in mining, in the areas of engineering, management, innovation and operations. He has worked in both medium- and large-size mining companies, such as Vale, AMSA, Anglo American, Xstrata Copper and BHP Escondida.
He was part of the original Minera Tres Valles project in 2009 at Vale, managing the transition from bioleaching to chloride leaching in 2015 (i.e., development of laboratory tests, column tests, testing at the semi-industrial level and in implementing the project, which was completed in 2020).
During 2022, he joined MTV once more, now as Metallurgy Superintendent in charge of the chemical & metallurgical laboratory, as well as short, medium, and long-term metallurgy for the project. He currently works as Plant Operations Manager, responsible for the crushing, heaping, leaching and SX-EW processes. Additionally, he supervises the metallurgy department and the support areas of mechanical and electrical maintenance at the hydrometallurgical plant.
Mining Civil Engineer with mention in Extractive Metallurgy from the Catholic University of Chile (UC), holding an MBA from the same University as well as a Master’s in Mining Management from the Catholic University of the North (UCN).
