STUDENTS FROM THE MINING EXPLOITATION SPECIALTY
PERFORM TRAINING ACTIVITIES TOGETHER WITH PROFESSIONALS
OF MINERA TRES VALLES

 

Through talks and visits to the company´s premises, the students of the Polytechnic School of the city of Illapel, developed training activities and an approach to the real working life of miners.


During Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th of September, twelfth grade students of the mining exploitation specialty from the Pablo Rodríguez Caviedes Polytechnic Public School, received the visit of professionals from Minera Tres Valles, who presented various topics of interest for the future technicians of the educational establishment.


Sergio Araya, the company´s geomechanics expert, exposed to the students the works of mine fortification, and drilling and blasting. On the other hand, the geologist Rodrigo Lillo and the mining engineer Alejandro Exss, carried out the talks of mine sampling, and loading and hauling of ore. During these talks, the students had the chance to answer all the questions and concerns they had about the development of these tasks within the mining site.


The field visit to the Rajo Don Gabriel, held on Tuesday, September 12th, made it possible for the learners to visualize in the field the exploitation works in an open pit mine, an instance that also allowed the future professionals to generate an approach to the miners working life.
